Everyone deserves a place to call home!
People with disabilities and their families face many barriers in finding the housing option that works best for them. The Arc Minnesota offers support on the housing journey by providing information about housing resources, discussing supports, and providing advocacy on housing-related issues.
The Arc Minnesota has two statewide housing programs that serve the areas of the Twin Cities Metro, Rochester, Mankato, St. Cloud, Moorhead, and Duluth.
Since 2009 Arc has partnered with the Department of Human Services to provide our Housing Access Services Program (HAS). HAS allows The Arc Minnesota to assist adults living with a disability, but without a waiver, to find and move to independent housing.
We work with each person on an individual basis to help them find and secure housing that best fits their unique wants and needs.
The Arc Minnesota also offers a Crisis Housing Assistance Program. It provides short-term housing assistance to people with a serious mental illness who are receiving hospital level psychiatric care or Substance Use Disorder treatment. This program is funded through a grant from the Minnesota Department of Human Services Behavioral Health Division. Find more information here.
