The Arc Minnesota Welcomes New Chief Development Officer Rachel Wobschall

“I am thrilled to welcome Rachel Wobschall to The Arc Minnesota as our new Chief Development Officer. Her exceptional track record in transformative development work, deep commitment to disability justice, and strong ties to the IDD community will be an extraordinary asset to our mission,” said CEO Naveh Eldar.

Rachel brings decades of leadership in fundraising, nonprofit strategy, and disability advocacy. Most recently, she served as Planned and Major Gift Officer at True Friends, where she played a key role in a successful capital campaign that led to the creation of the Cambria Recreation Center at Camp Courage.

Before that, Rachel was a Senior Major Gift Officer at Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare. There, she helped secure funding to advance research and treatment for cerebral palsy and other conditions.

Rachel also spent more than a decade at the University of St. Thomas as Executive Director of Alumni and Constituent Relations. In that role, she led engagement efforts for more than 110,000 alumni and helped complete a $515 million capital campaign.

Earlier in her career, Rachel served on the executive staff and cabinet of both Governor Rudy Perpich and Governor Jesse Ventura. During that time, she established Minnesota’s first Technology Related Assistance program for people with disabilities. This program became a model for federal law and has since been replicated across the country.

Rachel holds a Doctor of Education in organization development and leadership, along with graduate and undergraduate degrees from the University of St. Thomas. She has been recognized locally, nationally, and internationally for her leadership. Rachel’s lived experience with cerebral palsy has also shaped her work and advocacy. She was named the 2021 Pathways Pioneer by the American Academy of Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine.

In her new role, Rachel will lead fundraising and development efforts to support The Arc Minnesota’s mission to promote and protect the human rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
