The Arc Minnesota Appoints Mai Thor as Chief Program Officer

We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Mai Thor as the new Chief Program Officer at The Arc Minnesota! Mai’s unique blend of experience, passion, and deep commitment to advancing equity and justice will be an invaluable asset to our organization, particularly in disability rights. Mai officially joined our team on Monday, December 2nd.

With a rich and diverse professional background, Mai has dedicated her career to championing accessibility, inclusivity, and transformative change. She previously served as the Civic Engagement Coordinator at the Minnesota Department of Human Rights (MDHR), where she worked closely with community members and stakeholders to uphold the Minnesota Human Rights Act. At MnDOT, as a Program Manager, she coordinated initiatives to improve transportation access for people with disabilities and marginalized communities across the metro area. During her time as a Bush Fellow, Mai collaborated with leaders in disability justice and social justice to develop strategies that integrate disability, identity, rights, and culture — all while actively engaging with diverse communities through training, advocacy, and leadership development.

Mai’s visionary leadership and deep dedication to equity will strengthen our efforts as we continue to deepen our commitment to Disability Justice and amplify our impact within the community.

Please join us in giving Mai a warm welcome as she embarks on this exciting new chapter with The Arc Minnesota and Arc’s Value Village. We’re excited to have her on board and look forward to the transformative work we will do together!
