Congratulations to Mark who received funds from the Minnesota Microgrant Partnership to reach his goal of independent living. Mark formerly lived at home with his parents, however, decided he was ready to move out on his own. With assistance from his case manager, Mark secured an apartment and he began buying essential items to be safe and comfortable in his new home.
Mark used waivered funds to pay for the security deposit and some essential furniture, but he still needed a few things. His case manager suggested he apply for a grant to get a few other essential items including dishes and a vacuum. Mark is now settled into his apartment achieving his goal of independent living.
More information about the Minnesota Microgrant Partnership is available on The Arc Minnesota website if you or someone you know is interested in applying for a grant to reach a goal related to competitive employment, independent housing, or community inclusion.
