From the CEO | Recognizing Juneteenth at The Arc Minnesota

As we approach Juneteenth, I want to take a moment to reflect on its significance and acknowledge its importance to our community and beyond.

Juneteenth commemorates the freeing of enslaved African Americans in the United States. It serves as a powerful reminder of the resilience, strength, and continued journey toward liberation, equity, and justice for all. This day honors the freedom fighters who have paved the way for progress and reminds us of the work still ahead.

At The Arc Minnesota, we embrace diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice as core values. Juneteenth provides us with an opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to fostering a workplace and community where everyone feels valued, respected, and has self-efficacy.

To honor this day, I encourage each of us to take a moment to learn more about Juneteenth’s history, engage in conversations about its significance, and reflect on how we can contribute to a more just and equitable society.

Below are a few resources that I would like to share with you

Thank you for your support of our mission, and for your contributions to making The Arc Minnesota place where diversity thrives and inclusivity flourishes.

Warmest regards,

Andrea L. Zuber
