Want to volunteer on a set schedule? Please consider these volunteer opportunities:
The Arc Minnesota is looking for volunteers for ¡Adelante! a networking opportunity for Spanish speaking families who have a loved one with an intellectual and developmental disability. Time commitment is up to 3 hours a month per group, which includes drive or bus time. You do not need to speak Spanish in order to participate and you volunteer for those months/dates that work with your schedule. Volunteers provide childcare and lead recreation based activities to kids while their parents attend a support group. This opportunity is great for volunteers wanting experience with social service programming and having fun with kids. Click here for more information.
Arc’s Value Village Thrift Stores
Unpack, sort and tag donations such as clothing, household goods, books, toys, etc. at an Arc’s Value Village store in Richfield, New Hope, St. Paul or Bloomington. Work individually or with a team. You never know what amazing treasures you might discover! Hours are flexible—days, evenings and weekends, seven days a week! Sign up online at www.arcsvaluevillage.org/volunteer.
Community Impact Opportunities
Assist with civic engagement and systems change activities by telling your story, speaking with legislators or letting the public know about the issues impacting the disability community. Volunteers can participate by hosting a home visit, participating in Get Out the Vote activities, Tuesdays at the Capital, Disability Day at the Capital, and a host of other activities.
The Arc Minnesota seeks volunteers to translate brochures, materials, Arc Guides, web pages and other print materials from English into Spanish, Hmong, Somali and other languages. This can be done at our office or at your home.
