Take the FINDS Survey: Family & Individual Needs for Disability Supports

If you are a caregiver, please consider taking the FINDS survey. The Research and Training Center on Community Living at the University of Minnesota, in collaboration with The Arc of the United States, is conducting the Family & Individual Needs for Disability Supports (FINDS) survey. This survey seeks information from caregivers to answer the following questions:

  • What are the life experiences of caregivers and their family members with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD)?
  • What are the most difficult or stressful aspects of caregiving and what is rewarding?
  • What would make life easier or better for caregivers, their families, and people with I/DD they support across the life course?

Caregiving includes paid supports, but it also include the many unpaid and informal supports that family and friends might do for a loved one who needs assistance. Caregiving might include running errands, attending medical appointments, preparing meals, etc. It also might include providing care for a child beyond what is typical for a child of that age.

Survey results will be used to inform policy makers, researchers, and service providers about what will help caregivers and best support family members with a disability. Responses will be anonymous and confidential and results will be presented in aggregate to protect the privacy of you and your family. For more information and to take the survey, click here.
