Advocate blog: Meet Karen!

Meet Karen!

Karen is an ally from Faribault, Minnesota. Karen has been involved with The Arc Minnesota for 21 years now.  Karen, an older white woman with glasses, smiles at the camera

Since 2000, she has been a part of Self-Advocates Minnesota Southeast (SAM SE) through The Arc Minnesota as an ally. Through being an ally, Karen enjoys listening to self-advocates, advocating for people, seeing people grow, and presenting at conferences.

Karen’s goal is to help make this a world where everyone talents and gifts are seen and where everyone helps everyone when help is asked for.

Besides being a self-advocate, Karen enjoys spending time with her seven children, eight grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. She also loves to bake, crochet, and make tie blankets to give away.

Thanks for sharing, Karen!

Self-advocates write bios, blogs, and stories about themselves and their passions. These blog posts connect self-advocates to each other. If you would like to share a blog post, please email DhanyaDelehanty@arcminnesota.org
