Olmstead Plan Housing and Services Event

The City of Bloomington and The Arc Greater Twin Cities are co-sponsoring a unique event to benefit people with disabilities who would like to learn more about housing and services to support independent living. The event will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 – 6:30pm at the Bloomington Civic Plaza, 1800 W. Old Shakopee Rd., Bloomington, MN, 55431.

The Olmstead Plan Housing and Services sections provides a person with a disability the opportunity to be offered an “informed choice” to live in an integrated setting. People can choose where they live, with whom and in what type of housing. Supports and services are changing the way housing is providing and will allow sufficient flexibility to support individual’s choice on where they live and how they engage in their communities.

Come listen to the history of the Olmstead Act, details on the Minnesota Olmstead Plan and hear from a panel of experts. This event is geared for persons with disabilities, their families, community members, and professionals.

The event is sponsored by the City of Bloomington and co-sponsored by The Arc Greater Twin Cities, and is free and open to the public. The event will be held at the Bloomington Civic Plaza, 1800 W. Old Shakopee Rd., Bloomington, MN, 55431. Learn more here.
