Southeastern Minnesota Autism Symposium

The Arc Minnesota Southeast Region is cosponsoring a full day of educational events and discussion on autism and community inclusion.  Featured speakers:  D.J. Savarese and Ralph Savarese, PhD.

Tentative Schedule

8:30 – Registration/Check In/Coffee; Autism Society of Minnesota Bookstore

9:00 – Welcome and Introduction of Keynote

9:10 – D.J. Savarese, Advocate for Autistic Civil Rights and Inclusion

10:00 – Ralph Savarese, Author of Reasonable People: A Memoir of Autism and Adoption.  Dr. Savarese is also the author of the soon to released book, See it Feelingly: Classic Novels, Autistic Readers and the Schooling of a No-Good English Professor.

11:00 – Break and Autism Society of Minnesota Bookstore

11:15 – To Be Announced

12:00 – Lunch for Purchase (pre-order only) and Autism Society of Minnesota Bookstore

12:30 – Panel Discussion on Autism and Law Enforcement/Safety

2:00 – Closing

Admission is $20; for individuals who identify as being on the autism spectrum and caregivers, admission is $10.   Lunch is available for purchase for $10 and must be pre-ordered; catering by Canadian Honker.  Register and pay for the event at:
