“Intelligent Lives” Film Screening

Tuesday April 30 @ 6:00 pm

Intelligent Lives, a documentary by award-winning filmmaker Dan Habib, stars three pioneering young American adults with intellectual disabilities. Micah, Naieer, and Naomie challenge perceptions of intelligence as they navigate high school, college, and the workforce. Academy Award-winning actor and narrator Chris Cooper contextualizes the lives of these central characters through the emotional story of his son Jesse, as the film unpacks the shameful and ongoing track record of intelligence testing in the U.S.

New Hampshire-based filmmaker Dan Habib, the producer, director and cinematographer of Intelligent Lives, will present the documentary and participated in a guided discussion following the film. The screening is free and open to the public. Register at Event Brite.

There will be a collaborative discussion held on May 1st, 2019 to discuss the next steps to move Minnesota forward in improving the opportunities and systems for individuals living in MN. You must register for this event separately.
