Do you have questions about guardianship? The Arc believes that the majority of people, regardless of disability, have the ability to make decisions in regards to their life. When an individual turns 18 years old, they are considered a legal adult. Guardianship is a substitute decision making process and exists to assist adults in making decisions about their lives. Alternative and less restrictive options should always be considered when thinking about guardianship.Attend this Guardianship Workshop to learn more about guardianship, the options, and the process. We will discuss the following: How do we know if this is the right decision? What alternatives to guardianship can I use? What steps do we need to take? What are the rights of a person who is under guardianship?
