The Self-Advocates Minnesota (SAM) is a network of self-advocacy groups from all around the state. As part of their mission to build personal power and connect to the disability rights movement by making community changes, SAM will be hosting a Disability Equality Training series (DETS) in Rochester, Minnesota. DETS Course 101: Self-Advocacy Basics is an entry-level course with twelve one-hour sessions to help you:

    • Build personal power
    • Learn about the rights movement for disability equality and how it applies to them
    • Act together to contribute to the community
    • Build your identity as a “self advocate” through participation exercises

Everyone who graduates from the DETS Training will receive a certificate and receive a scholarship for the upcoming SAM Southeast Minnesota Conference!

If you are interested in joining this series, please contact Dhanya Delehanty at 888.732.8520 or dhanyadelehanty@arcminnesota.org.
